Something Wicked This Way Comes
1611 was the year when this certain university was founded. Three and a half centuries after, in 1946, the premiere hospital was established. At present, the hospital is comprised of three main wings --- the Medical Arts, the Clinical Division (Charity Ward), and the Pay Division.
The hospital building was primarily used as an interment camp during the Second World War.When the Third Philippine Republic was created, the building was then converted into an infirmary for the wounded soldiers.Decades after, the hospital, though still operational, still holds some brutal memories of the past --- lurking along the lonely hospital halls.
A hospital. Image from The Hospital's website.
Charity Division, Third Floor, Male Surgical Ward, Room 311.
The room was deserted because necessary renovation of the ward comfort room was still unfinished. He was the nurse-in-charge and as a part of the night shift inventory, he decided to proceed with the customary night-shift ward rounds. He took his phone with him as he was doing the rounds, and visited each room one-by-one.
First in 301, then to 303, up until 309 where all the patients are either sleeping or having chats with their fellow surgical wardmates. At the corner of the building was room 311 --- adjacent to it was St. Blaise Ward that caters to Head and Neck Surgery patients. He took his phone inside the room and in his least unexpected moment, something was captured on his mobile phone video camera.
Halloween came early for him this year.
Who/what is that image in 00:29 (or 00:04 if reversed)frame of the clip?Your guess is as good as mine.

ayay! ako din afraid sa horror! GaB pa naman, i'll just watch it pag may araw!
When i watched d horror flick movie of Bruce willis ( isee ded piol). I wasn't able to sleep properly for almost a whole month, (coz i live alone in d ruftop rememer) dat i leave d lights open and just close my eyes till i fall asleep! :(
i saw a ghost of female person in that clip who died in a severe lung complication, desperately trying to get some help, for she didn't know she already passed away.. she is only around 14 to 16 year old..
@JACQUE: Thanks for the corrections Jacque. Will take note of that. Hey, everyone meet Jacque, my ex-RLE/groupmate. Say Hello to Jacque. Don’t be shy. =)
@DRAKE: Yup drake. The façade was renovated for their Medical Tourism program. I’m getting a St. Luke’s-ish vibes though. On the far right was the new Benavides Cancer Institute. I’ve been there and it’s fabuloush! ~What batch and course mo drake?
@DAZEDBLU*: My friend even has the video personally forwarded to her by the guy who took it. I’m planning to have the actual cell phone clip acquired as of this posting.
@JOSH: I watched the video like 50x already. Playing and pausing at each frame. And guess what, the more you try to play it over and over again, the more the *thing appears to follow you or come out of your screen or something. Try it. It’s sooo fun. =) ~I loved Sixth Sense. The same thing happened to me josh. It took me weeks before I could sleep with the lights on. And it took me even longer a time for those gruesome images to completely disappear in my head…
~And before I forgot, I live in the rooftop alone as well. =)
@KIKS: No problem kiks. I can wait. I live by the maxim that “patience is a virtue” remember? ~That hospital does not need renovations kiks, it needs an exorcism. Hehehe. Just kidding. I guess as of now, those improvements will suffice. ~I’m reserving more horror stories for Halloween kiks. Patikim lang tong isa. =)
@THE NOMAD: Thanks for the visit nomad. Really appreciated you dropping by. ~Good for you nomad. The first time I watched this video clip? I was just going to bed.
@BRYAN ANTHONY I: The word “marami” is definitely an understatement. But then again, a hospital wouldn’t be complete without the mumu’s right?
=) So, fair lang, hehehe. ~And yup, sa buong campus naman eh marami ngang mumu. Interment = Burial camp nga naman diba?
PS. Actually that madre was notorious for flunking students simply because of their sexuality. She was my prof for 3 sems and provided you do the requirements as to her liking eh ipapasa ka nya. ~My Philo prof OK-ayed this blog. Good thing Theology profs weren’t even aware of this one. Kung magkaganun, patay-patay siguro ako. ~I can’t wait for the sarap part too. Nice chattin’ with you by the way.
@ATE JACKIE: Boo ate jackie! Hehe. It’s undeniably a ghost right? You can share the blessings, if you may. =)
@TONSKIE: I have tried to analyze the clip frame by frame, and yup, I agree with your observations. The *ghost was looking at the wall on the first frame, she turned back to face the nurse-on-duty and her face (in profile) was even clearly seen in some snapshots, and looked back again on the wall, before completely disappearing. ~It was said that *that entity committed suicide at that room. But of course, this information is yet to be confirmed. =( ~I didn't know you could do that.
@PAT: Sure pat. I’m reserving the scariest stories for Halloween. The plot: the Charity Ward elevator, the basement, the Intensive Care Unit, and the clinical Operating Room. =) ~It’d be fun.
@KC: You bet KC! This institution is probably one of Manila’s most haunted hospital. And I couldn’t wait to be back there to work. ~I was asked during my training if I would want to work in the Cancer Institute but I refused. Not only because ICU trumps Cancer Ins but I’ve read somewhere that chemo drugs can have systemic effects if they come in contact with the skin (even with gloves/protective barriers) or if they are smelled. ~The CI has the best oncologic facilities though. Mukhang maganda ang Onco exposure there. =)
@SAISHO: I miss UST too. ~And they have bellboys down at the hospital lobby ha. Hotel na hotel ang effect. And the Sto. Rosario Suite Room on the 5th floor? Grabe, may indoor garden, veranda, 3 suite beds, kitchen (complete with appliances and all), dining room, sala, receiving area, hotel-type comfort room, and a fantastic view of the campus (and the sky as well). I think it costs like P4K a night.
@YOSHKE: Yoshke ha, you’re such a tease! Baka ipakilala nga talaga kita sa guy niyan! Care for a swap though? ~Who cares about the white lady when you got the hot guy nga naman diba? =)
@REYVILLE: Yeah it was fast but *it was there. Good thing hindi ako yung kumukuha ng video. Hehehe. =) ~And thanks. Though it is purely copied from the company’s website. =)
@QUEER RANTER: I agree. I’m planning a longer entry come Halloween. Most of them from personal experiences, I swear. =) ~Care to share some ghost stories from KL? =)
Yeah. My sister said so. If I wanted a kickass ghostly experience, mag-apply daw ako sa USTH. Haha. Harhar.
~ Anyhoo, siguro may special room sila for preparing chemo meds. It's true that even the vapors from the meds can affect the person who's preparing the meds. CI ko kasi Onco nurse and she told us na she had a bald spot because of the exposure. WHaaat?! ~ But nevertheless, I feel that the Cancer Institute has one of the best onco facilities around. =)
@QUEER RANTER: Good thing you have benevolent entities. In this side of the world, it is otherwise. I’m blaming overpopulation and our high population density. Those places that are originally their domicile are slowly invaded by the living. Hence, the hauntings.
@MRS. J: I’m, er, brushing up on it. The hospital’s nursing directress might ask me those stuffs during our interview. Nagkakagulo ang sangkaparian sa USTe. I still want the hospital improved, though. Para mukhang stateside. =)
@SAISHO: My trainer’s a Thomasian as well. They’re everywhere! But she’s from your college. What’s her batch by the way? Do you think she knows me? Ayayay!
@EMPRESS MARUJA: Of course empress. Educ High yata ako. Hahaha. ~Sinara talaga yung CR na yun right? Does that story have something to do with the “cold sensation” touching your face while you pee sitting down?
@KC: It depends on the area. Ward mumu’s are those that are friendly ones. OR mumu’s are confused albeit nosy ones. ICU mumu’s are the hostile ones. They pull on linens, interact with patients themselves, and even induce heart attacks for god’s sakes. So I guess, it really depends on the area. =) ~Takot ako sa cancer stuffs eh, not that I have a positive family history of cancer, it’s just I was almost diagnosed with some CANCERS that were ruled out after undergoing much too much painful diagnostic procedures. So, no cancer for me. Hehehe.
@SKELETON COLLECTOR aka ****: Sana maulit muli. Just *ding meif you're online. I'm invisible most of the time. =)
Ah ok. Oh, I remember your story on my other post. That still gives me the creeps. Ayos. There are different personalities of moo-moos in UST. Cool. ~ Oh, that's sad to hear that you're nearly diagnosed with Ca. But I'm happy to hear that it isn't cancer. I know that you can do good in the ICU. Good luck to your "comeback" in USTH. God Bless! =)
Pero cyempre there are still those who will completely catch you off-guard. =) ~Its alright kc. Good thing they're not CA. I'm too young to have one. =) And thanks for the well wishes. Goodluck on your nursing career too. Go OR nurse! =)
@CHASE: Ooops sorry papa chase! Did I scare you? Come to papa ruff chasey, ico-comfort kita. =) ~With my hugs and kisses of course! =) Mwaaaaahhh papa chase!
@BOB: Hahaha! Patingin nga kung tumayo talaga! Ifi-feel ko na rin! Ita-try ko na rin kung pwede! ~Kaw talaga bob! Hmmm, nakakagigil (sa sarap)! Hahaha.
@CHASE: Love pa rin kita chase I swear. Hahaha! =D
a dreamer, a lover, a fighter, a man with an incredible heart. shy, inhibited and self-conscious in theory but adventurous, carefree, brave, risky and happy-go-lucky in practice. part time nurse, part time model, full time cheerleader. go go go!

Is that the new face of the UST Hospital? I've never returned to my Alma Mater since I got my yearbook... Geez, seems to be a foreign structure to me.

cant wait for the sarap. hehe
creepy! tumayo balahibo ko! hahaha. good thing im here in the office :p
i saw a ghost of female person in that clip who died in a severe lung complication, desperately trying to get some help, for she didn't know she already passed away.. she is only around 14 to 16 year old..
tangena talaga and shet. i miss hearing about ust hospital scary tales. give us more!
Oh freaky...adventure ito! Mukhang masayang mag-apply dyan. Harhar.
Ang ganda talaga ng ospital na ito. I want to work in the OR or sa Cancer Institute. Siguro sa Cancer Institute wala pang unseen entities...
i miss our school! i also took a picture of the ust before. parang hindi hospital eh. lmao
RUFF!!! ang ganda nung boses nung guy! Sobra. Grabe. hahahaha.

That was too fast but somehow creepy. But oh, the picture's nice. Liked it.
Oh now that's interesting. Hauntings seem to be mandatory requirement when it comes to hospitals.
@JACQUE: Thanks for the corrections Jacque. Will take note of that. Hey, everyone meet Jacque, my ex-RLE/groupmate. Say Hello to Jacque. Don’t be shy. =)

@BINO/GENO: Hahaha. Hmmm, not really. There are just some internal squabbles, but as of the moment, the plan is most likely to push through. I guess.
@GORJESS: Sure gorjess, it would be helpful too if you’ll bring the screen brightness to the highest. Mas maganda ang contrast. =)

I personally don't have not had ghostly encounters. Direct encounter that is.
Though my previous dorm, I could feel there was something in the room. Unexplainable cool room eventhough the weather outside is scorching hot.
There were several nightmare period that my roomie and I experienced. Other than that, it left us alone.
o well pero u know b d issues with dat hospital?
hehe
